Donor and Financial Transparency

Person writing

The People’s Vanguard of Davis are committed to transparency in all aspects, but especially in the funding of our organization.

When we accept financial support from donors to help with general operations, coverage of topics in our paper, and special projects. However, we do not endorse any of our donors or their products, services, and opinions.

Our News judgments are made independently; they are not based on or influenced by our donors’ views. We also do not give rights to donors to review, assign, or edit content prior to publication.

As a news non-profit, The People’s Vanguard of Davis does not accept charitable donations from government entities, political parties, elected officials, or candidates that are seeking office. Additionally, we will not accept donations from sources who, deemed by our board of directors, present a conflict of interest with our work or compromise our independence.

We make all online donations public with the use of the Network For Good platform, in which our readers can either publicly or anonymously donate money to our paper. We accept anonymous donations when sufficient safeguards have been put into place that the expenditure of the donation is made independently of our editorial staff and does not present a conflict of interest.

Our 990s from the IRS are available on our website from 2018-2022 for full transparency of where all of our money originates from and how it is used by our organization.
